T-town Nabs Girls Meet, Altamont Takes Boys Track Victory

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School won the girls track meet while Altamont was the boys champion in action Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes tallied 183 points followed by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 52, Altamont 42 and North Clay (Louisville) 42.

T-town's  Kaitlyn Vahling was a triple event winner taking the 100 in 12.6 seconds, the 200 in 26.2 and the 400 in 1:13.6 minutes.

Emma Bloemer claimed two victories. Bloemer won the 100 hurdles in 18.4 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 56.1.

The Shoes' Claire Overbeck won the 800 in 3:08.0 minutes. 

The Wooden Shoes 400 relay team was a winner in 52.8 seconds. Team members were Vahling, Halle Bushue, Ella Neihls and Adi Davidson.

In the field events, T-town's Davidson was a winner in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches. Sami Habing won the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.

E. Neihls claimed the long jump at 14 feet, 5 inches. Kaela Neihls won the triple jump at 33 feet, 5 1/2 inches.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Kyleigh Wallace was a double event winner. Wallace claimed the shot at 29 feet, 9 inches and won the discus with a throw of 105-10. Olivia Durbin won the 3200 meters in 16:53.0 minutes.

Altamont's 800 relay team was a winner in 1:56.8 minutes. Team members were Katie Tedrick, Gabriella Weishaar, Ella Short and Maya Moore.

The 1600 relay team also won in 4:36.4 minutes. Members were Tedrick, Short, Moore and Abigail Weishaar.

In the boys meet, Altamont was the team champion with 152 points followed by Teutopolis 83, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 48, North Clay 29 and Dieterich 24.

The Indians won eight individual titles and claimed three relay victories.

Eric Kollmann was a double event winner for the Indians taking the shot with a heave of 44 feet, 6 inches and the discus at 152-4.

Ben Roedl also won two events for the Indians. Roedl took the high jump at 6 feet, 1 inch and won the triple jump at 40-6.

Logan Duncan won the 100 in 11.8 seconds. Hayden Summers captured the 800 in 2:10.6 minutes. Kamryn Wolfert won the 110 hurdles in 18.4 seconds.

Jacob Veteto claimed the pole vault at 11-6.

The Indians won the 400 relay in 48.0 seconds. Team members were Alex Walker, Dexter Sloan, Duncan and Garrett Schultz. The 1600 relay team of Duncan, Jacob Johnson, Schultz and Hayden Summers won in 3:56.3 minutes. The 3200 relay team of Summers, Andrew Ellersick, Lane Spring and Juan Fulk won in 11:24.6.

Dieterich's Jack Bloemer was a double winner, taking the 200 in 25.4 seconds and winning the 3200 in 12:41.3 minutes.

T-town had two winners. The 800 relay team of Anthony Roley, Ethan Mette, Jack Lin and Ivan Wernsing won in 1:38.7 minutes. Mette captured the long jump at 17 feet, 5 inches.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Drake Richards won the 400 in 55.5 seconds.

North Clay's Zane Groves was a winner in the 1600 in 5:26.4 minutes. Weston Miller claimed the 300 hurdles in 51.5 seconds.
