St. Anthony Wins Boys, Girls Track Meets

TOLEDO -- Effingham St. Anthony captured both the boys and girls seven-team track meets at Cumberland High School Tuesday.

The Bulldogs won the girls meet with 138 points followed by Casey-Westfield 129, Marshall 100, Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 73, Cumberland 43, Bethany Okaw Valley 14 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 12.

St. Anthony captured the 800 relay with a time of 1:58.25 minutes. Members of the relay team were Erin Stewart, Grace Niebrugge, Annabelle Weishaar and Liv Hoene.

The Bulldogs also took first and second in the high jump as Mary Scheidemantel won at 1.52 meters and Mady Hodge was second at 1.32.

St. Anthony swept the pole vault. Allison Geen won at 3.20 meters, Liv Hoene was second at 2.30 and Anna Greene was third at 2.30.

Maggie Moeller won the triple jump with a leap of 9.72 meters.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's Leah Kasey claimed the shot with a heave of 9.14 meters.

Cumberland's Brielle Aaron won the long jump at 4.42 meters.

In the boys meet, St. Anthony was a winner with 123 points followed by Casey-Westfield 94, Marshall 92, Cumberland 85, Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 74, Bethany Okaw Valley 48 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 16.

St. Anthony's Max Sager won the 400 in 54.53 seconds and was second in the 200.

The 3200 relay team of Aidan Braunecker, Giovanni Bucio, Conlan Walsh and Griffen Elder won in 8:22.66 minutes.

Calvin Sudkamp claimed the triple jump at 11.26 meters for the Bulldogs while Walsh was second at 10.80.

Cumberland's Reid Carlen captured the 100 in 11.70 seconds.

The Pirates swept the pole vault as Kelby Bierman won at 2.90 meters followed by Hank Warfel second at 2.75 and Cooper Yocum third at 2.45.
