Windsor Athletes Advance To State In Girls Track

MOWEAQUA -- Two Windsor High School athletes advanced to the Class 1A Girls State Track Meet after finishing either first or second in the Moweaqua Central A&M Sectional Thursday.

Jenny Bullock captured two second place finishes. Bullock will advance to state in the long jump after going 16 feet. The winner was Sullivan's Amanda McClain who took first in 16 feet, 5 1/2 inches.

Bullock also will be going in the 100 after taking second in 12.76 seconds. Taylor Adcock of Central A&M finished first in 12.64.

WIndsor's Katie Hostetter captured first place in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet.

Shelbyville's Morgan Powers will be competing in the 800 run. She finished fifth in 2:24.83 minutes but will head to state because she reached the qualifying standard.

The girls state track meets will be held starting Thursday, May 16 with the Class 1A prelims. Class 2A and 3A prelims will be held Friday, May 17 and finals for all three classes will be held Saturday, May 18.
