Girls 1A, 2A Track Sectionals Today, Thursday

The girls Class 1A and Class 2A track sectionals are being held today and Thursday.
Seven area teams will be competing at the sectional in Altamont today. Field events begin at 4 p.m. and running events are at 5 p.m.
Fans are reminded they must purchase a digital ticket on Go-Fan from their mobile device. They are $7 which is set by the Illinois High School Association. Tickets cannot be purchased at the gate, they must be purchased through the Go-Fan App.
Members of the field include Effingham St. Anthony, Altamont, Brownstown/St. Elmo, Cumberland, North Clay (Louisville) Co-op, Newton, Teutopolis, Red Hill (Bridgeport), Casey-Westfield Co-op, Flora, Lawrenceville, Marshall, Oblong, Palestine/Hutsonville, Patoka Co-op, Robinson and Vandalia.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Neoga and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will be competing along with Arcola, Argenta-Oreana Co-op, Arthur-Lovignton/Atwood-Hammond, Bethany Okaw Valley, Cerro Gordo, Co-op, Decatur St. Teresa, Macon Meridian, Moweaqua Central A&M, Mount Pulaski, Niantic Sangamon Valley Co-op, Pana, Shelbyville, Sullivan, Tuscola and Warrensburg-Latham will be competing at the Class 1A Sullivan Sectional.
The field events begin at 4:30 p.m. with the running events at 6 p.m.
Qualifiers from the Class 1A sectionals will advance to the State Final Tournament Thursday, May 19 with finalists advancing to Saturday, May 21 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Effingham will compete in the Class 2A Tolono Unity Sectional Thursday. Field events begin at 2:30 p.m. with the running events at 4 p.m.
Other members of the field include Champaign Central, Charleston, Clinton, Decatur Eisenhower, Decatur MacArthur, Mahomt-Seymour, Mattoon, Monticello, Mount Carmel, Mount Zion, Olney, Paris, Rantoul, Tolono Unity and Urbana.
Qualifers from the Class 2A sectionals will advance to the State Final Tournament at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston Friday, May 20 with the finals scheduled for Saturday, May 21.
