T-town Wins Girls Track Meet, Vandalia Boys Meet

VANDALIA -- Teutopolis High School claimed a six-team girls track meet Tuesday at Vandalia High School. The Vandals captured the boys meet.

The Wooden Shoes finished with 130 points followed by Vandalia 103, Neoga 89, Greenville 49, Cumberland 38 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 11.

T-town was led by Kaitlyn Vahling with three first place finishes. Vahling was a winner in the 100 with a time of 12.50 seconds and claimed the 200 in 27.20. She also won the 400 in 1:06.12 minutes.

Emma Bloemer won for the Shoes in the 100 hurdles in 18.31 seconds and finished second in the 300 hurdles in 57.75. Kaela Neihls won the triple jump with a leap of 30 feet, 10 inches and claimed a second in the long jump at 12-9. Isabella Hemmen won the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches.

Neoga had three individual winners and two relay team victories. Maggie Clark won the 800 in 2:55.44 minutes while Haylee Campbell claimed the shot with a heave of 31 feet, 2 inches. Gracie Gresens won the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches.

The 1600 relay team won in 4:57.53 minutes while the 3200 relay team was a winner in 12:33.56.

Cumberland's Ani Edwards was a winner in two events. Edwards claimed the 1600 in 6:27.70 minutes and the 3200 in 14:32.55.

WSS' Emma Garrett nabbed the long jump at 13 feet, 4 1/2 inches.

In the boys meet, Vandalia was a the team champion edging second place Teutopolis by a point, 91-90. Cumberland and Neoga tied for third with 86 each while Greenville had 84 and Windsor/Stew-Stras 38.

The Wooden Shoes had three finishers in first place. Jackson Vonderheide won the 200 in 24.50 while teammate Nolan Runde was second in 25.47. Kolten Tedrick took the shot with a throw of 40 feet, 11 inches while Riley Probst was second in 39-1 3/4. Probst finished first in the discus with a throw of  91-11.

Cumberland had one relay team and four individuals with firsts. Austin Finn won the 400 in 56.81 seconds. Riley Morgan was first in the 3200 in 12:49.06 while teammate Michael Beaumont took second in 12:52.66.

Kelby Bierman won the pole vault at 9 feet and teammate Joseph Knowles was second at 7-0. Galen Martinez won the long jump at 17-11.

The 1600 relay team won in 4:08.91 minutes.

Neoga had five first place finishes. Mitch Moran claimed two of those. Moran won the 110 hurdles in 18.66 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 46.06. Lucas Keller won the 1600 in 5:36.28 minutes. Dontye Perry was a winner in the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches. Gavin Ray took the triple jump at 32-7 1/2.
