Michl Is All-Conference With Fifth Place Finish

The Millikin University track and field team collected three event wins and had several All-Conference performances at the 2013 CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Millikin University May 3-4 in Decatur. Millikin finished in sixth place in both the
men’s and women’s team standings.

Millikin senior Ariel Robinson (Decatur MacArthur H.S.) was the CCIW champion in the 100 and 200. Robinson won the 100 in 12.52 seconds and was first in the 200 in 25.34 seconds.

Big Blue senior LeAnn Spesard (Paris, H.S.) was the CCIW champion for the second straight year in the shot put. Spesard won with a throw of 47 feet, 1/4 inches setting a new CCIW meet record and a new Millikin school record. Spesard was second in the women’s hammer with a throw of 157-1.

Freshman Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) was fifth in the 400 meter dash in 1:00.10 earning All-Conference honors by finishing in the top eight in her event.
