Millikin Competes at True Blue Open

The Millikin men’s and women’s track and field team took part in the Illinois College True Blue Open on April 27 in Jacksonville, Ill. The Millikin women were sixth and the men were 14th.

In women’s action, Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) was fifth in the 800 meters in 2:26.83.
 
Millikin sent four relay teams to the famed Drake Relays April 26 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Millikin women’s team of Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.), Alyssa Staib (Naperville, Naperville Central H.S.), Uriah Walker (Lansing, Thornton Fractional South H.S.) and Robinson ran a time of 50.86 in the 400 relay preliminaries, which was not fast enough to qualify for Saturday’s finals.

The Millikin women’s 1600 relay featuring Michl, Staib, Emberton and Robinson turned in a time of 4:01.99 to finish in 21st overall.  Millikin failed to qualify for Saturday’s finals, but the time was the second fastest on the Big Blue Outdoor Track Top 10 Performance List.
