Altamont Claims Boys Meet, St. A Girls Meet

Altamont High School captured the boys track meet at St. Anthony while the Bulldogs were winners in the girls meet Monday.

Altamont claimed seven first place finishes on the way to 164 points followed by St. Anthony 137, Sullivan 133.5, Brownstown/St. Elmo 67.5, Dieterich 12 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 8.

The Indians were led by Eric Kollman and Xander Moschenrose with two victories each. Kollman was a winner in the shot at 11.9 and the discus at 135 ft. 5 in. Moschnrose was a winner in the 100 in 11.42 seconds and the 200 in 23.24.

Other first place finishes for Altamont were Tucker Short in the 800 with a time of 2:08.31 minutes, Kolby Brewer in the long jump at 5.86 and Sam Mathesius in the triple jump at 11.62. The Indians claimed the 1600 relay in 3:41.

Max Sager was a double winner for St. Anthony. Sager took the 400 in 53.93 seconds and the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches.

Noah Tegeler won the 1600 in 4:51.83 minutes. The Bulldogs also claimed the 3200 relay in 8:58.

Jace McWhorter was a triple winner for Brownstown/St. Elmo. McWhorter claimed the 100 hurdles in 16.61 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 43.46 seconds.. He also won the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches.

Dieterich's J. Bloemer was a winner in the 3200.

In the girls meet, St. Anthony claimed the win with 176 points followed by Sullivan 129, Brownstown/St. Elmo 51, Altamont 17 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 15.

The Bulldogs had seven first place finishers. Sydney Kibler took the shot with a throw of 9.2 and the discus at 98-7. 

Stacie Vonderhreide captured the 1600 in 6:18 minutes. Riley Willenborg was a winner in the 3200 in 16:52.

Evie Srulmeyer claimed the 100 hurdles in 18.13 seconds. Maggie Moeller won the 100 in 13.29. Emma Helmink was a winner in the 800 in 3:00.71.
