EHS Girls Compete At Triad Invitational

TROY -- Effingham High School competed in the Triad Lady Knight Track Invitational Friday. The Hearts finished seventh. Winning the meet was Troy Triad with 203 points followed by Freeburg 125, Highland 91, Collinsville 86, Waterloo 71, Benton 60, Effingham 58 and Breese Mater Dei 15.

Jaclyn Steppe captured second for the Hearts in the 300 hurdles in 50.15. Shayna Phillips finished third in the 800 in 2:35.24. Claire Niebrugge was third in the 400 in 1:05.44. Jantzen Michael captured fourth place in the discus with a throw of 99 feet, 1 inch. Kelly Keitel captured sixth place in The high jump for the Hearts with a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches. Kristina Rivera claimed sixth in the 200 in 28.45 and took sixth in the 100 in 13.58.

The Hearts 3200 relay team finished third in 10:46.29. Members of the team are Bethany Donaldson, Madi Woelfer, Jenna Bingham and Phillips. The Hearts 400 relay team finished sixth in 54.06. Team members are Cort Mosier, Reagan Keck, Holly Moore and Rivera. The 800 relay team took fourth in 1:54.87. Team members are Mosier, Keck, Moore and Rivera. The 1600 relay team finished third in 4:19.14. Members are Phillips, Jami Swan, Neibrugge and Steppe.
