T-town Girls Take First, Boys Second In Track Meets

VANDALIA -- Teutopolis High School claimed first place in the girls track meet with 120 points followed by Vandalia 62, Neoga 12 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 8 Tuesday.

The Shoes captured the 3200 relay with a time of 12:21.32 minutes, the 800 relay in 6:33.39 and the 1600 in 4:40.57.

I. Hemmen, S. Cooper and J. Deters were winners in two events each. Hemmen claimed the 200 in 30.75 seconds and the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches. Cooper was a winner in the 400 in 1:26.48 minutes and the 100 hurdles in 21.75 seconds. Deters won the long jump at 13 feet, 7 inches and the 800 in 3:01.86 minutes.

J. Runde won the 1600 in 6:33.39 while Niehls took the triple jump at 28-5. T. Bueker won the 3200 in 15:43.17.

Neoga's K. Gresens claimed the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches.

In the boys meet, Vandalia was the winner with 70 points followed by T-town 57, Neoga 18 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 18.

T-town's D. Hewing won two events, taking the 110 hurdles in 19.68 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 52.39.

I. Wernsing claimed the pole vault at 10-6. R. Probst won the shot with a throw of 42-7. E. Rodgers took the discus at 111-0.

Neoga's B. Cox won the 3200 in 11:50.22.and the 1600 in 5:23.21.
