Bulldogs First In Boys Meet, Second In Girls At Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony claimed first place in the boys and second in the girls track meets at Shelbyville High School Saturday.

In the boys meet, the Bulldogs won with 100 points followed by Shelbyville 66, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 43 and Tolono Unity 37.

The Bulldogs took six first place finishes in the meet. In the 400, Mick Willenborg was a winner in 55.71 seconds. Ty Wiedman claimed the 800 in 2:12.29 minutes.

Taylor Smith won the discus with a throw of 58.50m while Noah Tegeler claimed the high jump at 1.67m.

The 1600 relay took first in 3:41.94 minutes. Members of the team were Willenborg, Tegeler, Wiedman and Kennan Walsh.

The 3200 relay team of Griffin Elder, Wiedman, Tegeler and Conlan Walsh won in 8:44.81 minutes.

In the girls meet, Tolono Unity won with 88 points followed by St. Anthony 56.5, Shelbyville 47.5 and ALAH 29.

The Bulldogs had two first place finishes. Stacie Vonderheide won the high jump at 1.47m while Grace Niebrugge took the triple jump in 7.79m.
