St. A, T-town Claim Boys, Girls Track Meets

St. Anthony High School captured the boys meet while Teutopolis was the girls champion in track competition Monday.

In the boys meet, the Bulldogs scored 211 points followed by Charleston 122, Teutopolis 93, Neoga 18, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 16 and Dieterich 14.

St. Anthony's M. Sager was a three-event winner. Sager took the 100 in 11.96 seconds, the 200 in 24.47 and the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches. N. Tegeler claimed two wins. Tegeler took the 1600 in 4:56.83 minutes and tied T-town's J. Niebrugge in the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches.

Other individual winners for the Bulldogs were M .Willenborg in the 400 in 54.62, I. Dong in the 300 hurdles in 49.46 and T. Smith in the discus with a throw of 143 feet.

St. Anthony also claimed the 3200 relay in 9:09.99 minutes and the 1600 in 4:10.30.

T-town's first place finishes came in the 400 relay in 47.99 seconds, D. Hewing in the 100 hurdles in 18.96 and R. Probst in the shot with a heave of 43 feet, 6 1/2 inches.

In the girls meet, T-town was the winner with 130 points followed by St. Anthony 118, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 10 and Neoga 6.

The Wooden Shoes won all four relay events. T-town took the 400 in 1:00.26 minutes, the 800 in 2:04.6, the 1600 in 5:07.25 and the 3200 in 11:50.87.

Jolene Deters was a winner in two events, taking the long jump at 14 feet, 1 inch and winning the 800 in 2:59.11.

Kaitlyn Vahling won the 100 with a personal best time of 12.93, which is just slightly off  the state qualifying time of 12.95. Lauren Heuerman captured the 200 in 31.70. Isabelle Hemmen went over the pole vault bar at 10 feet, 9 inches. which goes over the state qualfying standard of 9 feet. Macie Weichman won the triple jump with a leap of 28-3.

Stacie Vonderheide, Sydney Kibler and Evie Strullmyer claimed two wins each for the Bulldogs.

Kibler won the shot with a heave of 30 feet, 10 1/2 inches and the discus at 107-0. Strullmyer claimed the 100 hurdles in 19.13 seconds and the 400 in 1:11.57. Vonderheide won the 1600 in 6:20 and the high jump at 4-8.
