Pickett Honored by State Track Association

For more than 30 years, Steve Pickett has been synonymous with junior high track and field in Effingham. Many men in Effingham have been part of Pickett's Army. Huge numbers of kids turned out for track at Effingham Junior High School through the years.

Now, Pickett is being recognized for his success.

The Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced that Pickett has been selected to receive its Distinguished Middle School Coach Award. 

The presentation ceremony will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Westin Hotel in Lombard. The ceremony will take place in conjunction with the Association's annual clinic. The awards ceremony will be followed by a Hall of Fame and Awards Social.
