Junior High Tracksters Headed To State

The area will be well represented at the boys and girls junior high state track meets Friday and Saturday at Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
Athletes from Effingham St. Anthony, Effingham Sacred Haert, Altamont, Brownstown/St. Elmo, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Neoga, Newton St. Thomas, North Clay (Louisville), Sigel St. Michael, South Central, Stewardson-Strasburg and Teutopolis will be competing.
The Class A seventh and eighth grade state meets will officially begin with the Parade of Athletes at 10:15 a.m. The field events start at 11 a.m. and the running events begin at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
The competitor gate opens at 9 a.m. and the general public gate is open at 9:30 a.m.
On Saturday, the competitor gate will open at 7 a.m. and the general public gate at 7:30 a.m. The Parade of Athletes will start at 8:20 p.m. Both field and running events will begin at 9 a.m.
