Robinson Captures Cumberland Girls Track Invite

TOLEDO -- Robinson High School claimed the championship of the Cumberland Girls Track Invitational Friday.

 

The Maroons tallied 120 points followed by Okaw Valley 82, Cumberland 53, Effingham St. Anthony 52.5, Casey-Westfield 51, Paris 45, Palestine/Hutsonville 41.5, Marshall 41, Altamont 33, Brownstown/St. Elmo 26, Neoga 7 and Vandalia 6.

The Bulldogs nabbed three relay championships, taking the 3200 in 10:55.10 minutes with team members Jessica Wilson, Ada Rozene, Riley Guy and Sarah Carr. They won the 800 relay in 1:57.42 minutes with team members Peyton Ellis, Evie Strullmyer, Reagan Westendorf and Wilson. and, they claimed the 1600 in 4:31.24 with team members, Strullmyer,  Westendorf, Wilson and Carr.

Carr picked up an individual victory in the 800 in 2:26.91.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's Claire Wilhour was a double event winner, capturing the 100 hurdles in 17.37 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 48.04 seconds.

The only other area winner was Altamont's Rachel Jackman in the high jump at 4 feet, 11 inches.
