Bulldogs Boys, Girls Finish Sixth At Pana Co-Ed Track Invitationals

PANA -- Effingham St. Anthony captured sixth place in both the boys and girls Pana Co-Ed Track Invitationals Saturday.

In the boys meet, Pleasant Plains won with 163 points followed by Carlinville 110, Pana 95.5, Macon Meridian 37, Litchfield 34, St. Anthony 30, Gillespie 25, Sangamon Valley 22.5, New Berlin 16, Hillsboro 11, Moweaqua Central A&M 9, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 4 and Springfield Lutheran 1.

St. Anthony's Brian Dust captured third place in the 800 with a time of 2:10.59 minutes, a personal record.

He also finished fourth in the 1600 in 4:54.96 minutes. He was a member of the third place 1600 relay team that finished in 3:43.12. Other members were Mick Willenborg, Ty Wiedman and Kennan Walsh and he was a team member of the 3200 relay team that finished third in 8:55.11. Other team members were Ollie Kingery, Wiedman and Noah Tegeler.

Austin Faber finished fourth in the 3200 in 11:31.59. Logan Antrim took fifth in the pole vault at 12 feet.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's Dustin Bridges captured fourth place in the 100 in 12.16 seconds.

In the girls meet, Pana won with 125 points followed by Pleasant Plains 84, Hillsboro 60, Litchfield 56, New Berlin 53, St. Anthony 49, Macon Meridian 42, Moweaqua Central A&M 28, Carlinville 16, Pawnee 16, Gillespie 13 and Sangamon Valley 9.

St. Anthony's Sarah Carr won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:29.07 minutes. Riley Guy finished fifth at 2:36.48.

Carr was a member of the 1600 relay team that took second in 4:28.63 minutes. Other members were Evie Strullmyer, Macy Ludwig and Jessica Wilson. Carr was a member of the 3200 relay team that finished second in 11:00.40. Other members were Ada Rozene, Wilson and Guy.

Abigail Cothran took fourth in the triple jump at 27 feet, 1 1/4 inches. Macy Ludwig was fourth in the high jump at 4-10. Rozene finished fifth in the 1600 in 6:11.98.

The Bulldogs' 800 relay team placed fourth in 1:59.89. Team members were Strullmyer, Peyton Ellis, Reagan Westendorf and Ludwig. The 400 relay team finished fifth in 57.46 seconds. Ellis, Abigail Cothran, Westendorf and Ludwig were team members.
