Area Teams Compete in Cumberland Boys Track Invite

Catlin Salt Fork claimed the championship of the Cumberland Boys Track Invitational Tuesday with 143 points.

The champion was followed by Vandalia 68, Palestine/Hutsonville 58, Casey-Westfield 57, Altamont 56, Effingham St. Anthony 56, Teutopolis 47, Cumberland 47, Brownstown/St. Elmo 14 and Okaw Valley 5.

St. Anthony's 3200 relay team crossed the finish line first with a time of 9:09.21 minutes. Members of the team were Ty Wiedman, Brian Dust, Moises Lemus and Ollie Kingery. T-town finished second in 9:20.46 while Altamont took third at 9:43.28 and Cumberland fourth at 9:51.92.

The Bulldogs' Dust was a winner in the 1600 with a time of 4:54.50.

Altamont's Tim Moore claimed the championship of the pole vault with a vault of 13 feet.

T-town's Joe Kingery won the discus with a throw of 159 feet, 10 inches and took second in the shot at 45-4 1/2.

Cumberland's Myles Gerhardt claimed the 400 in 52.52 seconds.
