T-town Third, EHS Sixth at Mattoon Girls Track Invite

MATTOON -- Mount Zion captured the championship of the Mattoon Girls Track Invitational Tuesday with 115.5 points followed by Mattoon 107.33, Teutopolis 77.33, Centralia 77, Charleston 71.33, Effingham 46.5, Olney 34, Salem 15 and Taylorville 14.

Effingham's Kiyah Kuhlman claimed the championship of the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.41 seconds and finished second in the 300 hurdles in 50.15.

Shelby Rieman finished third for the Hearts in the high jump at 5-1.

The Hearts took second in the 400 relay in 4:16.01 while T-town was third at 4:25.39.

T-town's Claire Bushur picked up two victories in the meet. Bushur, a junior, won the shot with a throw of 43 feet, 2 1/2 inches and took the discus with a distance of 136 feet, 1 inch.

T-town's Rebecca Habing finished third in the 300 hurdles in 52.06. The Shoes' Isabelle Hemmen was second in the pole vault at 10 feet while teammate Micah McWhorter took third at 9-6. The Shoes finished second in the 3200 relay in 10:11.18 and third in the 800 relay in 1:53.52.
