EHS Boys Compete at Belleville West Track Invite

BELLEVILLE -- Effingham High School competed at the always tough Belleville West Boys Track Invitational Saturday.

Edwardsville won the meet with 61 points followed by Homewood-Flossmoor 58, Minooka 53, Plainfield North 49, Lockport Township 48, Mascoutah 42.5, Collinsville 38, Belleville East 35, Metea Valley 33, Springfield 31.5, Alton 31, Springfield Southeast 24, O'Fallon 24, Hononegah 23, Waterloo 23, Cahokia 20.5, Freeburg 19.5, Normal West 17.5, Plainfield East 17, Thornton 17, Belleville West 17, South Elgin 16, St. Rita 12, Triad 10, Granite City 10, Plaino 9, Lebanon 5, Carlinville 4, Centennial 4, Pinckneyville 4, Effingham 1.5 and Bolingbrook 1.

The Hearts finished 31st with 1.5 points. Those points came from Nate Thompson, a sophomore, who finished seventh in the pole vault with a vault of 11 feet.
