Area Teams Compete in Weekend Track Meets

Triad Girls Track Invitational

Effingham High School competed in the Troy Triad Invitational Friday where the Hearts finished ninth out of 16 teams.

Belleville West won with 185 points followed by Naperville Central 100, Triad 83, Edwardsville 71, Mahomet-Seymour 70, Clinton 69, Glenwood 49, Freeburg 49, Effingham 35, Trenton Weslin 34, Waterloo 28, Collinsville 26, Breese Mater ei 24, Springfield Lanphier 16, Granite City 11 and Dupo 5.

Kiyah Kuhlman and Shelby Rieman finished the highest for the Hearts, both with third places.

Kuhlman took third in the 100 hurdles in 15.97 seconds and also placed third in the 300 hurdles in 47.98.

Rieman finished third in the high jump at 5 feet.

The Hearts also claimed third in the 1600 relay with a time of 4:17.42 minutes.

Tuscola finished first in the boys meet with 86 points followed by  Arcola 83, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 56, Macon Meridian 48, Shiloh 46, Casey-Westfield 41, ALAH 32, Cumberland 27, Sullivan 25, Sangamon Valley 23, Cerro Gordo 22, Neoga 13, Villa Grove 12, Marshall 8 and Decatur Lutheran 5.
