Altamont Nabs Boys Track Meet, CHBC Takes Girls Win

ALTAMONT -- Altamont High School claimed a six team boys track meet Tuesday. The Indians won with 179 points followed by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 167, Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 72, Brownstown/St.Elmo 45, Patoka 22 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 9.

The Indians picked up four first place finishes but got most of their points with six seconds, 13 thirds and four fourths.

Altamont claimed the 400 relay with a time of 47.55 seconds. Moore captured the pole vault at 13 feet, 6 inches while Kollman won the discus with a throw of 140 feet, 6 inches. The Indians also nabbed the 800 relay in 1:38.89.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City had seven first place finshes. Dylan Webster had three victories, taking the 100 in 11.47 seconds, the 200 in 24.24 and the long jump at 19 feet, 4 inches. Jason Baylis won the high jump going over the bar at 5 feet, 4 inches. Jadon Robertson claimed the 100 hurdles in 16.65 seconds, Ditton Curl the triple jump at 35-11 and Zach Burks the 300 hurdles in 45.12.

CHBC also won the 1600 relay with a tie of 3:52.97 minutes.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's Sam Klein won the 400 in 56.13 while teammate Jacob Baron claimed the shot with a throw of 42-10 1/2.

Winning the girls meet was Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City with 218 followed by Altamont 96, Patoka 55, Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 23 North Clay 18 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 12.

CHBC toko the 1600 relay in 4:45.32 and the 3200 relay in 13:07.80. The Bobcats also won the 400 relay in 58.15 seconds.

Duckwitz won four events for CHBC, taking the 100 in 13.02 seconds, the 200 in 28.48, the 400 in 1:09.00 and the long jump at 15-4 1/2.

Robertson was a winner in the 100 hurdles in 17.42 and the triple jump at 28-7. Lorton captured the 800 in 2:39.18. White won the pole vault at 8 feet.

Altamont's Sandoval claimed two events, the 1600 in 6:41.65 and the 3200 in 15:51.82.
