Hill, Morrissey Advance to Class 2A State Track Finals

CHARLESTON -- Effingham High School's Terrence Hill and Alec Morrissey advanced Friday in the Class 2A State Boys Track Meet preliminaries to the finals scheduled for Saturday.

Hill, who participated in two events, qualfied in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 3 inches. He did not make the finals in the 100 with a time of 11.07 seconds.

Morrissey will be competing in the pole vault finals after going over the bar at 13 feet, 3 inches to qualify.

Frank Schniederjon had a throw of 49 feet, 3/4 inches in the shot but failed to advance. Jacob Miller competed in the triple jump and had a leap of 40 feet, 10 3/4 inches but did not make the finals.

Kody Line took part in the high jump and failed to advance with a jump of 6 feet, 2 inches.
