Olivia Ott Places Third in Heptathlon

Olivia Ott, a Neoga High School graduate, captured third place in the heptathlon for the Missouri State University women's track team recently.

The Missouri Valley Conference Meet was held at Indiana State University. Ott, a junior, competes in the heptathlon which includes the high jump, shot, 200, long jump, javelin throw, 800 and 100 hurdles. The events are contested over a two-day period.

Finishing up the heptathlon, Ott rewrote her personal best point total 4,998, en route to All-Conference honors and a third place finish.

Ott, a 5-foot-8 junior, lettered four years in track at Neoga where she was team captain, most valuable player and had the highest score during her senior season.

She earned MVC Scholar-Athlete Honors with a 3.68 GPA, taking fifth in the pentathlon during the indoor championship before her third in the outdoor conference meet.

Ott is the daughter of Doug Ott and Carol Hacker.
