Class AA Junior High State Track Results

Effingham and Jasper County had athletes competing in the Class AA State Junior High Track Meets during the weekend at Peoria.

John Westendorf finished the highest for the Mustangs. The seventh-grader took eighth place in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 9 inches and was eighth in the 1600 run with a time of 5:02.83 minutes.

Also in the seventh-grade boys meet, Andrew Donaldson competed in the 800 and finished 29th in 2:26.61.

In the seventh-grade girls meet, Abby Cunningham finished 25th in the shot with a throw of 25-10 1/4 while Courtney Beck was 22nd in the 100 hurdles in 17.59 seconds.

In the eighth-grade girls meet, Camryn Duncan finished 19th in the shot with a throw of 29-10 1/4. Grace Bushur was 30th in the 400 in 1:05.14 minutes.

The 800 relay team of Tori Budde, Sawyer Althoff, Bushur, Madison Pierce and Daelyn Dunston finished 27th in 1:59.11.

Jasper County had three athletes competing. Ben Meinhart was 16th in the pole vault at 9-6. Dalton Baltzell finished 21st in the seventh-grade boys high jump at 4 feet, 9 inches. Jacob Wickham was 20th in discus with a throw of 100-0.
