Effingham's Kuhlman Advances to Finals

CHARLESTON -- Effingham High School's Kiyah Kuhlman advanced to the finals in the Class 2A State Girls Track Meet Friday at Eastern Illinois University's O'Brien Stadium.

Kuhlman, a junior, finished with a time of 45.82 seconds, her season best. She is just a little off the school record set by Laura Stallings at 45.69.

The best time of the day in the 300 hurdles was 43.55 with the slowest at 46.08.

Kuhlman will be back in action Saturday in the finals. The 300 hurdles approximate start time will be 3:15 p.m.
