EHS Competes at Norm Armstrong Track Invitational

BELLEVILLE -- Effingham High School finished 13th out of 20 teams at the Belleville West Norm Armstrong Boys Track Invitational Wednesday.
Minooka won the meet with 120 points followed by Edwardsville 90.5, East St. Louis 81.5, O'Fallon 69, Cahokia 54, Alton 48, Belleville West 43, Collinsville 34, Normal West 33, Mascoutah 31, Troy Triad 25.5, Quincy 20, Effingham 19.5, Belleville East 19.5, Waterloo 19, Freeburg 17.5, Trenton Wesclin 10, Breese Mater Dei 3, Lebanon 2 and Belleville Althoff Catholic 1.
Alec Morrissey had the best finish for the Hearts, taking second in the pole vault at 13 feet, 6 inches.
Terrence Hill finished third in the 100 with a time of 11.14 seconds. Hill also had a third place finish in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet. Hill was a member of the 400 relay team along with Braden Hasty, Jordan McCabe and Kody Line. The team finished ninth in 45.58.
Line finished 10th in the long jump at 19-9 while Tristin Duncan was 15th at 19-0.
Jacob Miller was 21st in the triple jump at 30-6. Ben Schuette finished 17th in the discus at 114-9 and Jackson Woelfer was 21st in the 200 in 23.86.
