Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed the girls meet while Teutopolis was the boys winner in track competition at St. Anthony Tuesday.

In the girls meet, the Bulldogs tallied 83 followed by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 62, Altamont 57 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 32.

St. Anthony won three of the four relay events. The 400 relay team picked up the victory in 58.51 with Rogers, Dalber, Cothran and Deters. The Bulldogs also nabbed the 800 relay in 2:02.9 minutes. Team members were Deters, Passalacqua, Westendorf and Ludwig. The 1600 team of Westendorf, Passalacqua, Ludwig and Carr won in 4:46.74.

Inidivdually, Sarah Carr claimed two events, the 800 in 2:37.88 and the 3200 in 13:21.0.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City/s Robertson captured three wins. Robertson took the 100 hurdles in 16.44 seconds, the long jump at 15 feet and the triple jump at 30 feet, 7 1/2 inches.

Altamont's Wolff claimed the shot and discuss. Wolff won the shot with a heave of 36 feet, 10 inches and won the discus with a throw of 114-2.

Brownstown/St. Elmo/s Wilhour won the 100 in 13.21 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 49.97.

In the boys meet, Teutopolis was the team winner with 116 points followed by Altamont 110, St. Anthony 55, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 39 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 25.

The Wooden Shoes were strong in field events, taking first place finishes in four of the six events.

Emmerich was a two-event winner, taking the long jump at 18 feet, 3 inches and the triple jump at 35-10. Kowalski won the pole vault at 12 feet. Esker claimed the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches.

T-town was a winner in all four relay events. The Shoes won the 1600 relay in 3:57.34 minutes and the 3200 relay in 9:22.88. Team members in the 3200 were Schumacher, Mette, Weidner and Hewing. They won the 400 relay in 48.66 seconds. Team members wre Isley, Bierman, Esker and Emmerich. They nabbed the 800 relay in 1:40.94.

Altamont's Brown captured two events, winning the shot with a heave of 39 feet, 1 inch and the discus at 148-2 1/2. The Indians had another double event winner as Brewer won the 100 in 11.92 seconds and the 200 in 25.0.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis nabbed a dual meet in girls track action Tuesday over Newton, 76-59.

Claire Bushur was a double event winner for the Shoes. She claimed the shot with a throw of 43 feet, 1/2 in and the discus at 117-11.

Jessica Runde also nabbed two events. Runde captured the 800 in 2:44.13 minutes and the 1600 in 6:31.29.

T-town's Nikki Wellbaum won the triple jump at 30 feet, 8 1/2 inches. Lauren  Wessel claimed the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches. Micah McWhorter won the pole vault at 9-6. Allison Will took the 200 in 29.85 seconds.

T-town was a winner in the 3200 relay in 10:39.49.minutes and the 1600 relay in 4:31.14.

Newton captured the other two relays, winning the 400 in 53.05 and the 800 in 1:57.94.

At Highland

Effingham competed in the Highland Freshman/Sophomore Boys Track Invitational Tuesday.

Wininng the meet was Troy Triad with 117 points followed by Collinsville 100, Mascoutah 94, O'Fallon 88, Highland 69, Effingham 50, Salem 47, Breese Central 38.5, Freeburg 36, Jersey 14.5, Father McGivney Catholic 7 and Lebanon 2.

Clayton Cramsey captured the only first place finish for the Hearts in the 400 with a time of 53.10 seconds.

Gunner Franklin took third in the triple jump at 37-11.

Tristan Duncan claimed two fourth place finishes. Duncan had a leap of 18-10 1/4 in the long jump and a time of 11.76 in the 100.

Tristin Elkin finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 115-7.

The Hearts' 400 relay team of Cramsey, Franklin, Austin Herboth and Duncan finished fourth in 46.68.
