EHS Wins Teutopolis Boys Track Invite

TEUTOPOLIS -- Effingham High School claimed the boys championship of the Teutopolis Track Invitational Friday. Charleston was the girls champion.

The Hearts won the boys meet with 126 points followed by Charleston 109.5, Newton 59.5, Casey-Westfield 50.5, Altamont 45, Olney 44, Teutopolis 43, Cumberland 36.5, Paris 34 and St. Anthony 10.

Terrance Hill scored some points for the Hearts. The senior finished first in the 200 in 24.45 seconds and also nabbed a first place finish in the 100 in 11.29. He also had the winning height in the high jump at 6 feet.

The Hearts' Jacob Miller won the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 1 inch. Kody Line claimed the long jump at 19-7.

EHS' Clayton Cramsey was a winner in the 400 in 53.82.

Altamont's Nate Brown won the shot with a heave of 48 feet, 1 inch.

T-town's Joe Kingery took the discus with a throw of 148 feet, 1 inch.

Newton was winner in the 800 relay in 1:38.30.

In the girls meet, Charleston won the team title with 106 points followed by Teutopolis 89, Effingham 69, Robinson 65, Newton 53, Casey-Westfield 44, Cumberland 35.5, Olney 31, Paris 30,  Altamont 25.5 and St. Anthony 10.

Effingham was a winner in the 1600 relay with a time of 4:35.63 min.

The Hearts' Kiyah Kuhlman captured the 100 hurdles in 17.20 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 52.22.

Newton claimed first place in the 800 relay with a time of 1:56.36 and first in the 400 relay in 45.55 seconds.

T-town's Morgan Mette was a winner in the 400 with a time of 1:03.11. The Wooden Shoes won the 3200 relay in 10:25.96. Team members were Jessica Runde, Rebecca Habing, Kara Weichman and Morgan Mette. T-town's Micah McWhorter was a winner in the pole vault at 9 feet. Claire Bushur won the discus with a throw of 112-7.

Cumberland's Jasmyn Dittamore won the 3200 in 12:40.91 minutes.
