Area Tracksters Compete at Gene Armer Invite

CHAMPAIGN -- Area boys and girls competed in the Gene Armer Track Invitational Saturday.

In the girls meet, Teutopolis High School's Claire Bushur captured the shot with a throw of 40 feet, 3 inches while Altamont's Hanna Wolff took fifth with a toss of 37-11 1/2.

T-town's Micah McWhorter finished ninth in the pole vault at 10 feet.

The Wooden Shoes took an eighth-place finish in the 3200 relay with a time of 10:35.02. Team members were Jessica Runde, Rebecca Habing, Kara Weichman and Morgan Mette.

Brownstown/St.Elmo's Clair Wilhour finished fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:02.12 while T-town's Mette was 10th in 1:03.91.

In the boys meet, Brownstown/St. Elmo's Jace McWhorter captured an eighth-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches.
