First Day Results From Junior High AA State Track Meet

The first day of the State AA Junior High Track and Field Meet took place Friday with some good results for area athletes.

In the 7th grade boys meet, pole vault was the only event completed involving area athletes. Luke Koester of Teutopolis and Dalton Fox of Effingham finished tied for 10 place at eight feet. Mitchell Althoff of Teutopolis was 18th at 7'6". Ben Meinhart of Jasper County also competed, but did not place.

In the 8th grade boys meet, Tristan Duncan of Effingham finished 16th in the long jump, going 18 feet, five inches. Ethan Weidner of Teutopolis finished 19th in the 1600 in 5:00.4. Blaine Murray of Jasper County finished 36th in the 400 meter dash in 59.73.

In the 7th grade girls meet, Macy Probst of Teutopolis tied for fourth in the high jump at 4' 7". Camryn Duncan of Effingham finished ninth in the shot put with a toss of 27 feet, 10-3/4 inches. Grace Bushur of Effingham finished 10th in the 400 in a time of 1:04.69. Isabelle Hemmen of Teutopolis tied for fourth in the pole vault, going 7' 6". 

In the 8th grade girls meet, Shelby Rieman of Effingham did not place in the high jump. Jessica Runde of Teutopolis finished 31st in the 1600 meter run in 5:58.39. Emma Hardiek of Effingham finished 16th in the discus at 87 feet, seven inches. Ana Rodriguez of Jasper County finished 29th in the long jump, going 15 feet, 1-3/4 inches.

The state meet concludes today at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
