EHS Wins Girls Paris Tiger Relays, Boys Second

PARIS -- Effingham High School captured the championship of the Paris Tigers Girls Track Relays and finished second in the boys side of the relays Thursday.

The Hearts won the girls meet with 170 points followed by Paris 106, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 81, Neoga 77, Marshall 51 and Lawrenceville 42.

The Hearts' Kylee Beard claimed the 100 with a time of 13.46 seconds. Miranda Fox was first in the 400 in 1:03.65 minutes.

EHS went one-two in the 800 as Kourtney Cordes won in 2:39.30 and Hannah Pike was second in 2:42.14.

The Hearts won the 800 relay in 2:00.70. Team members were Chloe Martin, Renae Bingman, Ashlyn Hanks and Bayleigh Longwell. EHS then claimed the 1600 relay in 4:26.61. Members of the team were Natalie Carie, Beard, Martin and Fox. EHS also claimed the 3200 relay in 11:02.20. Hannah Pike, Lali Hoyos, Meredith Kull and Fox were the runners.

Shelby Myers was a double event winner taking the discus at 89 feet and the shot at 33 feet, 3 inches.

Neoga's Makenzie Hill claimed the 100 hurdles in 16.96 seconds while teammate Abbi Kepp took second in 17.05. Emmalyn Walk was first in the 1600 in 5:58.58.

The Indians' 400 relay team won in 53.84. Team members were Zoe Meadows, Chloe Winchester, Hill and Kepp.

In the boys meet, Paris claimed the title with 183 points followed by Effingham 162, Marshall 63, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 48,  Oakland 39, Lawrenceville 27 and Neoga 18.

Effingham's Terrence Hill was a winner in the 100 in 10.96 seconds and the 200 in 22.52. Clayton Cramsey took the 400 in 52.58. Jacob Donaldson won the 800 in 2:03.71 minutes.

Effingham nabbed the 400 relay in 45.34. Team members were Jack Woelfer, Logan Arend, Braden Hasty and Kody Line. The Hearts then nabbed the 800 relay in 1:36.50. Hill, Tyler Marschewski, Woelfer and Line were the runners.

Line and Hill went 1-2 in the high jump with Line at 6 feet, 2 inches and Hill at 6-0. Ben Schutte won the discus at 124 feet.

Alec Morrissey won the pole vault at 13 feet.
