EHS Competes In Track Meets, T-town Fourth at Shelbyville

TROY -- Effingham finished 11th in the Troy Triad Girls Track Invitational Friday.

Naperville Central won the meet with 181 points followed by Belleville West 169.5, Freeburg 91, Waterloo 77, Mahomet-Seymour 70, Troy Triad 69, Collinsville 57, Highland 34, Trenton Wesclin 31, Benton 28, Effingham 19, Breese Mater Dei 12.5 and Dupo 7.

Effingham's Camryn Heuerman captured the top spot for the Hearts with a third place finish in the 100 hurdles. Heuerman took third with a time of 17.51 seconds.

Kourtney Cordes was sixth in the 3200 in 12:34.22.

In a meet Thursday at Taylorville, the Hearts were third with 50 points.

Shelby Myers captured first in the discus with a throw of 88 feet, 7 inches. Camryn Heuerman took first in the 100 hurdles in 17.51 seconds.

Monticello captured the championship of the Shelbyville Girls Track Invitational  Friday followed by Warrensburg-Latham 76.25, Decatur St. Teresa 67.5, Teutopolis 63.25, Clinton 42, Mount Zion 42, Williamsville 25, Newton 24, Central A&M 10 and Altamont 16.

Teutopolis captured first place in the 3200 relay with a time of 10:16.90 minutes.
