Bulldogs Eighth in Greenville Boys, Girls Invitationals

GREENVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony High School finished eighth in both the boys and girls Greenville Track Invitationals Saturday.

In the boys meet, Breese Central won with 120 points followed by Mattoon 105, Jersey 80, Carlinville 74, Pleasant Plains 58, Pana 48, Vandalia 47, St. Anthony 34, Greenville 29, Trenton Wesclin 29, Highland 21, Olympia 20, Rochester 14, Alton Marquette 8 and Columbia 1.

St. Anthony's Ty Kinkelaar claimed the discus throw with a new meet record distance of 168 feet, 10 inches. He also broke the St. Anthony school record of 163 feet, 6 inches. Kinkelaar nabbed first place in the shot with a throw of 46 feet, 8 inches

Dalton Walk took third in the shot at 44-9. Jack Nuxoll had a fourth place finish in the 200 with a time of 24.27.

In the women's meet, Mattoon won the team title with 117.5 points followed by Pana 84.5, Olympia 60, Pleasant Plains 59, Jersey 53, Hillsboro 45, Highland 42, St. Anthony 40, Breese Central 37, Vandalia 36, Rochester 28, Greenville 25, Carlinville 23, Trenton Wesclin 22,  Columbia 16 and Alton Marquette 13.

St. Anthony's Kristin Slaughter won the pole vault with a new meet record of 11 feet, 9 inches. She finished fourth in the 400 in 1:03.14 and was on the second place 1600 relay team along with Sarah Carr, Abby Weis and Jessica Wilson in 4:21.85.

The Bulldogs' 3200 relay team took third in 10:50.74. Kaitlyn Zeller, Carr, Madison McWhorter and Weis were team members.
