T-town, WSS Nab Several Girls Track Wins

MOUNT ZION -- Several Teutopolis and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School girls captured victories at the Mount Zion Indoor Track Meet Thursday.

Windsor/Stew-Stras' Whitney Smith claimed three first place finishes. Smith nabbed the 200 with a time of 28.84 seconds. She then won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10 1/2 inches and captured the triple jump at 34-5 1/2.

Teutopolis High School's Claire Buscher, a freshman, won the shot with a throw of 35 feet, 7 inches.

The Wooden Shoes also claimed two relay events. The Shoes won the 800 relay with a time of 1:56.34 and then captured the 1600 relay in 4:29.83.
