Johnson Sixth at Midwest Indoor Track Invite

The Millikin men’s and women’s Indoor Track and Field team had a strong showing at the Midwest Indoor Track Invite hosted by Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois on January 21.

In the women’s events, Millikin freshman Isabella Newingham (Decatur, Meridian H.S.) won the 60 Meters in 8.11 seconds, which is fourth fastest time in school history.  Newingham finished in sixth in the Triple Jump in 10.09 meters, which was seventh all-time for the Big Blue.

Sophomore Erin Lukens (Johnston City, Herrin H.S.) won the 300 Meters in 43.18 seconds and finished in fifth in the 60 Meter Hurdles in 10.15 seconds.  Her prelim time of 9.87 seconds was third fastest all-time at Millikin.

Freshman Taylor Johnson (Newton, H.S.) finished in sixth in the 300 Meters in 46.25 seconds and Claire Caldwell (Monticello, H.S.) was seventh at 46.57.
