Millikin University senior Jamie Michl set a new school record and improved her chances at making the NCAA Track Championships field with her performance at the Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central College on May 19 in Naperville, Illinois.

Michl, a Newton High School graduate, ran the Women’s 800 Meters in 2:10.15 setting a new Millikin record in the event.  The time is currently 10th fastest in Division III this season and will likely qualify Michl for the NCAA field.  Michl was third in the event finishing behind NCAA Division I runner Ali Olson of Northern Illinois and Annalise Wagner of Washington University-St. Louis who ran the third fastest time in Division III this year.

The NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for May 26-28 in Waverly, Iowa. The Championships field will be announced on Saturday, May 21.
