Several Area Girls Headed to Class A State (Updated Sectional Results)

Several area athletes are headed to the Girls State Track Meet after good performances at the Altamont Sectional on Friday.
Here's who's headed to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston for the state meet:
Abby Weis of St. Anthony and Sarah Carr of Newton qualified in the 800 meter run, Weis in 2:24.3 and Carr in 2:26.95. They finished second and third in the event.
Anna Sophia Keller of St. Anthony won both the 1600 meter run and the 3200 meter run, as she attempts to defend her state championships. Keller won the 1600 in 5:01.25 and the 3200 in 10:41.6. Weis also qualified in the 1600 at 5:27.62.
McKendra Barthelme of Newton qualified for State in four events. She won the 100 meter hurdles in 15.33, the 300 meter hurdles in 48.02, the long jump at 17'6-1/4", and the triple jump at 33'11-3/4".
The Teutopolis 400 relay squad of Morgan Mette, Julia Greuel, Nikki Wellbaum and Julia Hardiek is headed to State after winning in 51.23. The T-Town squad of Julia Hardiek, Julia Greuel, Anna Hartke and Morgan Mette also is statebound after a win in 1:49.49, and the Teutopolis 1600 relay squad of Kara Weichman, Savannah Grimes, Rebecca Habing and Morgan Mette is headed for State after a win in 4:15. The St. Anthony squad of Sara Ragland, Abby Weis, Anna Sophia Keller and Kristin Slaughter also qualified for State with a time of 4:15.78, finishing second Friday.
Anna Hartke of Teutopolis also is statebound after she won the high jump with a leap of 5'1".
Kristin Slaughter of St. Anthony also is headed to State in the pole vault after a win, going 12 feet.
The State Meet starts Thursday.
