GREENVILLE -- Effingham Junior High School competed in the Greenville Boys Track Invitational April 29. In this meet, the eighth-grade team of Logan Arend, Clayton Cramsey, Zeel Patel and Cameron Kalber broke the school record in the 1600 relay, crusiing to a 3:54.9 clocking for first place. That eclipsed the old record of 3:55.5 set by the 2015 team of Zach Lee, Kalber, Kaleb Kihne and  Tyler Marchewski.

Triad won the team championship with 77 points followed by Greenville 74, Effingham 72, Highland 37, Carlinville 37, Brownstown 25, Litchfield 16 and Breese 1.

Finishes for Effingham included:

Hurdles -- 5. Westendorf, 18.4

100 -- 2. Duncan, 12.2

Seventh-Grade Medley Relay -- 1. Gabe Kihne, Christian Raddatz, Austin Herboth, Tristin Duncan, 1:56.5

400 Relay Open -- 3. Payton Simmons, Nathan Lohman, Mason Hasty, Trenton Tuttle, 57.2

Eighth 400 Relay -- 3. Logan Brown, Clayton Cramsey, Zeel Patel, Cameron Kalber, 51.5

Seventh 400 Relay -- 1. Gabe Kihne, Austin Herboth, Christian Raddatz, Tristin Duncan
