St. A Wins Boys Meet, Neoga Nabs Girls Meet

Effingham St. Anthony captured the boys track meet Monday evening while Neoga was the girls meet winner.

The Bulldogs won the boys meet with 98 points followed by Neoga 63 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 11.

Mitchell Sager and Ty Kinkelaar claimed two victories each. Sager won the 110 hurdles in 19.81 seconds and the 1600 in 5:17.86. Kinkelaar was a winner in the shot with a throw of 44 feet, 8 1/2 inches and won the discus at 146-7.

The Bulldogs took the 400 relay in 51.01 seconds. Team members were Augie Heal, Jacob Schmidt, Clayton Helmink and Jon Blanchette. They won the 800 relay in 1:42.25. Members were Sager, Schmidt, Blanchette and Jack Nuxoll.

Heal won the 200 in 26.05. Kyle Hartke was a winner in the pole vault at 11 feet, 3 inches.

Neoga picked up seven victories. The Indians won the 3200 relay in 9:38.53 and the 1600 relay in 4:01.02.

Abernathy picked up two wins, taking the 100 in 11.84 and the 300 hurdles in 48.20. Kastl also nabbed two victories, winning the high jump at 5-4 and the 800 in 2:13.0.

Gresens was a winner in the long jump at 18-1/2. Walk picked up the 3200 win in 12:04.91.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was a winner in one event as Howell claimed the triple jump at 35-9 1/2.

In the girls meet, Neoga won with 37 points followed by St. Anthony 20 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 6.

The Indians captured eight first place victories. Neoga won the 3200 relay in 12:37.52. Members of the team were Walk, Howald, Ewing and Kingery. They also claimed the 1600 relay in 5:21.01. Ewing, Meadows, Walk and Kingery were team members.

Kingery was a two-event winner, taking the 400 in 1:05.57 and the high jump at 4-4. Albumbaugh claimed the shot with at throw of 29-2. Walk picked up the 3200 in 14:10.05 while Hill won the 300 hurdles in 58.55.

St. Anthony had five wins. The 400 relay team of Aly Esker, Emily McDevitt, Sara Ragland and Wines won in 54.42 seconds. Esker claimed the 100 in 13.31 while Abby Weiss won the 800 in 2:32.33. Kaitlyn Zeller picked up the 1600 in 6;18.21 and McDevitt captured the triple jump at 28-11.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's Rosenbaugh won the discus with a throw of 98-4 and the 100 in 18.45 seconds.
