Effingham Wins Paris Boys, Girls Track Relays

PARIS -- Efifngham High School captured both the boys and girls Paris Relays championships Thursday evening.

The Hearts won the girls relays with 196 points followed by Neoga 120, Marshall 120, Paris 66, GRFC 40 and Tri-County 27.

Effingham's Phillips was a three-event winner. She captured the 400 in 1:03.08 minutes, the 800 in 2:27.78 and the high jump at 4 feet, 9 inches.

Rivera was a winner in two events, claiming the 100 in 13.11 seconds and the 200 in 28.02. Myers also was a double event winner in the shot with a throw of 33 feet, 5 inches and the discus at 93-4.

The Hearts won the 800 relay in 1:53.24 and the 1600 relay in 4:20.68.

Neoga's Banning was a winner in the triple jump with a leap of 30 feet, 1 inch. She finished second in the long jump and the 100. Curry finished second in the 3200.

In the boys meet, Terrence Hill captured the 100 dash in 11.02 seconds and the 200 in 23.08.

Tyler Hoemann was a winner in the 400 in 55.36 seconds.

The Hearts claimed the 1600 relay in 3:35.0 and the 3200 relay in 8:52.11.

Neoga's top finisher was Abernathy in the 300 hurdles.  Abernathy captured first with a time of 44.21 seconds.
