Altamont Nabs Triangular Boys, Girls Track Meets

Altamont High School captured both boys and girls track meets at Effingham St. Anthony High School Tuesday.

Altamont won the girls meet with 88 points followed by St. Anthony 58 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 26

Altamont's 3200 relay team won in 12:11.76 minutes, the 800 relay team won in 2:03.55 and the 1600 relay team won in 5:22.22.

Individually, Hoene claimed the 100 hurdles in 18.46 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 54.84. Wolff also took two victories, the shot with a throw of 30 feet, 9 inches and the discus at 89-6. Paquette claimed the 400 in 1:14.05 and Crow won the high jump at 3 feet, 8 inches.

St. Anthony's Slaughter was a three-event winner taking the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches, the 200 in 28.91 seconds and the 100 in 13.95.

In the boys meet, Altamont won with 89 points followed by St. Anthony 70 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 24.

The Indians claimed the 3200 relay in 9:41.96 minutes, the 400 in 48.09 seconds, the 800 in 1:39.98 and the 1600 in 3:44.80.

Altamont's Stevenson took the 100 hurdles in 16.84 and the 300 hurdles in 46.25. He also won the high jump at 5-10.

Flores won the 3200 in 10:45.39 and the 1600 in 5:12.27. Stone also was a two-event winner, claiming the 200 in 24.69 and the triple jump at 38-0. Caravallo captured the 100 in 11.89.

Nuxoll won two events for the Bulldogs, capturing the 400 in 55.21 and the long jump at 17-11.
