Altamont Wins Boys Meet While T-town Nabs Girls Meet

TEUTOPOLIS -- Altamont High School nabbed the boys meet while Teutopolis claimed the girls win in track action Tuesday evening.

The Indians tallied 136 points to take the boys win followed by Teutopolis 127, Flora 53, Brownstown/St. Elmo 30 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 26.

Brown took two victories for the Indians. He won the shot with a throw of 37 feet, 7 inches and the discus at 128-10. Stone helped the Indians in the field categories with victories in the long jump at 18 feet and the triple jump at 38-2 1/4.

Altamont also claimed the 800 relay in 1:41.46 and the 1600 relay  in 3:44.5. Barns won the 400 in 56.1 seconds, Stevenson claimed the 300 hurdles in 41.33, Flores nabbed the 1600 in 5:01.76 and Caravello won the 200 in 25.1.

The Wooden Shoes won six events, taking the 3200 relay in 9:09.86 and the 400 relay in 48.04. Hardiek claimed the high jump at 6 feet while McWhorter took the pole vault at 11-0. Schmidt was a winner in the 3200 in 12:27.30 and Isley claimed the 800 in 2:09.26.

In the girls meet, Teutopolis won with 180 points followed by Altamont 104, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 28, Flora 22 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 17.

T-town's Savannah Grimes was a triple winner. She claimed the 800 in 2:40.58, the 1600 in 6:15.33 and the triple jump at 39-5 1/2.

Julia Hardiek claimed two victories, taking the 200 in 28.61 and the 100 in 13.94.

Other Wooden Shoe wins came from Anna Hartke in the high jump at 5-1, Christa Schwinke in the pole vault at 8-0, Emma Repking in the 3200 in 14:17.72 and Kara Weichman in the 300 hurdles in 51.57.

The Shoes swept the relay events taking the 400 in 54.85, the 800 in 1:54.68, the 1600 in 4:43.66 and the 3200 in 11:06.88.

Hanna Wolff captured the shot with a throw of 34-2 1/2. Mackenzie Hoene won the 110 hurdles in 18.4 while Goldstein captured the 400 in 1:10.08.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's Sydney Rosborough won the discus with a throw of 99-7.
