Anna Sophia Keller Double State Champion at IHSA Track and Field Meet

St. Anthony High School sophomore Anna Sophia Keller won two events at the Girls 1A State Track and Field Meet Saturday at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

Anna Sophia won the 3200 meter run in 10:42.93, more than four seconds ahead of the second place finisher, and then won the 1600 meter run in 5:03.19, .26 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Keller repeats as the state 1600 meter champion, but avenges a second place finish in the 3200 meter last year.

St. Anthony also got a second place finish from Kristin Slaughter in the pole vault, at 11' 6". 

Those performances garnered St. Anthony a fifth place overall finish with 28 points.

Other results for area athletes:

Rachel Westendorf of Teutopolis finished third in the pole vault at 11' 3", while Hannah Bueker of Teutopolis finished 10th at 10' 6".

Olivia Ott finished sixth in the long jump at 17' 7-1/2", while McKendra Barthelme of Newton finished ninth at 17' 2-1/2". 

Barthelme also finished third in the 110 meter high hurdles in 15.11, and Ott finished 11th in the triple jump at 35' 1". 

Newton finished 7th in the 4X200 meter relay. McKendra Barthelme, Lexie Davidson, Hannah Litzelman and Taylor Johnson finished in 1:46.37. 

Newton's 4X400 relay team finished second in the state. The quartet of Taylor Johnson, Lexie Davidson, Hannah Litzelman and Emma Weber finished in 4:01.88.
