Shelbyville Wins Own Boys Track Open, Newton Third

SHELBYVILLE -- Shelbyville High School won its own boys track open Saturday with 127 points followed by Tolono Unity 100.5, Newton 77, Arcola 55, Teutopolis 50, Mount Zion 43, Villa Grove 35, Patoka 34, Effingham St. Anthony 30, Meridian 24, Sullivan 20.5, Decatur St. Teresa 20, Altamont 18, LSA 15, Sangamon Valley 13, Cumberland 12, Central A&M 6, Warrensburg-Latham 6, Marshall 5, Neoga 4 and Cowden-Herrick 1.
St. Anthony's Andrew Gardewine captured two first place finishes in the meet. Gardewine won the 400 in 50.61 seconds and claimed the 800 in 1:57.83 minutes.
T-town's Riley Drees claimed the 300 hurdles in 40.55.
Newton's Matthew Tolliver-Goode was a winner in the pole vault with a vault of 14 feet.
