Wooden Shoes Nab Boys, Girls Track Meets

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School was a winner in both boys and girls track competition Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes nabbed the boys meet with 183 points followed by Cumberland 11, Neoga 100, Vandalia 91, Stewardson-Strasburg 35 and Windsor 24.

T-town's Scott Isley was a double event winner, capturing the 1600 in 5:01.90 minutes and the 3200 in 11:08.67. The Shoes' Jacob Schumacher won the discus with a throw 108 feet, 10 inches. Riley Drees was a winner in the 300 hurdles in 41.79 seconds. Wyatt Hewing took the 800 in 2:19.23 minutes.

T-town also won the 400 relay in 47.93 seconds, the 800 relay in 1:04.27 and the 1600 relay in 3:57.36

Neoga's Corey Kersey was the big winner in the meet capturing four first place finishes. Kersey won the long jump at 19 feet, 9 1/2 inches, the trirple jump at 42-5 and the high jump at 6-0. He also claimed the 100 in 11.24 seconds.

Cumberland's Brock Rawlings was a winner in the shot with a throw of 37-11.

In the girls meet, Teutopolis won with 193 points followed by Neoga 134, Vandalia 123, Cumberland 61, Stewardson-Strasburg 20 and Windsor 8.

T-town's Megan Weichman claimed two events, the 100 in 13.54 and the 3200 in 13:42.78. Shanna Niebrugge also was a two-event winner. Niebrugge captured the 1600 in 5:54.11 and the 800 in 2:41.6.

Other Wooden Shoe winners were Rachel Westendorf in the 300 hurdles in 51.35, Christin Hoene in the shot with a throw of 32-3 and Lauren Wessel in the high jump at 4-10.

The Shoes also nabbed the 1600 relay in 4:46.35

Neoga's Olivia Ott picked up two victories. Ott won the long jump at 16-8 and the triple jump at 33-5. Ellie Buening was a winner in the discus at 95-3.

The Indians had two first place finishes in relay events, taking the 800 in 1:53.03 and the 3200 in 10:53.61.
