Area Teams Competed At Cumberland Boys Track Invitaitonal

TOLEDO -- Olney High School claimed the Cumberland Boys Track Invitational Tuesday. The Tigers scored 110 points followed by Newton 86, Teutopolis 69, Casey-Westfield 50, Altamont 49, St. Anthony 44, Cisne 30, Cumberland 30, Tri-County 26, Vandalia 25 and Brownstown/St. Elmo 8.

Newton won all four relay events. The Eagles' 3200 relay team, that included Joe Stone, Colin Harris, Kirk Johnson and Trenton Gonzalez, finished in 9:14.35 minutes.

The Eagles also won the 800 relay in 1:36.78. Team members were Bryce Dhom, Kyle Zumbahlen, Zack Lewis and Stone. The Eagles captured the 1600 relay in 3:36.02. Dhom, Lewis, Matthew Oliver and Stone were the runners. Newton won the 400 relay in 46.21 seconds. Dhom, Lewis, Tolliver and Kyle Zumbahlen claimed the win.

St. Anthony's Andrew Gardewine was a winner in two events. Gardewine claimed the 1600 in 4:47.59 minutes and won the 800 in 2:00.34.

T-town had two winners. Riley Drees won the 300 hurdles in 40.78 seconds while Lucas Probst claimed the 3200 in 10:40.37 minutes.

Altamont's Mtichell Stevenson was a winner in the high jump at 6 feet.
