Anna Sophia Keller Nabs Two First Place Finishes At Mattoon Invitational

MATTOON -- Mattoon High School claimed the championship of its own Girls Track Invitational Tuesday.

The Green Wave tallied 117 points followed by Mount Zion 92, Charleston 71, Centralia 67, Clinton 59, Teutopolis 42.5, Effingham 29, Effingham St. Anthony 27.5, Salem 23, Vandalia 18, Taylorville 6 and Tuscola 6.

St. Anthony's Anna Sophia Keller was the story for local athletes as she picked up two victories in the meet. Keller won the 800 with a time of 2:17.73 minutes. She also went the distance to win the 1600 in 4:59.46.

Effingham's Camryn Heuerman finished second in the 100 hurdles in 17.24 seconds. Shayna Phillips took third in the 800 in 2:29.35 and was second in the 400 in 1:02.24.

T-town's Rachel Westendorf finished third in the 300 hurdles in 51.55 and she was third in the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches. The Wooden Shoes 3200 relay team of Megan Weichman, Michelle Schmidt, Kara Weichman and Anna Hartke claimed second in 4:21.86.
