Altamont Wins Triangular Boys, Girls Track Meets

Altamont picked up both a boys and a girls victory in triangular high school track meets Tuesday at Effingham St. Anthony.

In the girls meet, Altamont tallied 75 points followed by St. Anthony 61 and Cowden-Herrick 26.

Wolff picked up two victories for the Indians. Wolff nabbed the shot with a throw of 34 feet and took the discus at 86-7 1/2. Hanna was a winner in the pole vault at 8-6. Stone won the high jump at 4-6.

In the running events, Altamont claimed the 400 relay in 55.66 and the 800 relay in 2:00.03. Zacha was a winner in the 800 in 2:50.07. Hoene won the 300 hurdles in 55.28 and Goldstein captured the 200 in 28.36.

St. Anthony wins came in the 3200 relay in 12:26 and the 1600 relay in 4:48.9. Ragland won the 100 hurdles in 17.81, McWhorter the 1600 in 7:01.57 and Falconburg the 400 in 1:06.06.

Cowden-Herrick's Blair was a double event winner taking the triple jump at 28-11 and the long jump at 13-4. Stall won the 3200 in 19:59.33.
 
Altamont edged St. Anthony in the boys meet with 83 points followed by St. Anthony 82.5 and Cowden-Herrick 9.5.

The Indians had three field event wins and claimed six running events. Stevenson took the long jump at 18 feet, 4 inches while Stone was a winner in the triple jump at 37-9. Brown claimed the discus at 121-10.

In the running events, Altamont won the 400 relay in 48.46 seconds. Flores claimed the 1600 in 4:59.95 and the 3200 in 10:50.96. Stevenson picked up a second win by taking the 110 hurdles in 16.8 seconds. Doedtman nabbed two victories, winning the 100 in 11.94 and the 200 in 24.75.

St. Anthony won the 3200 relay in 9:13.98, the 1600 relay in 3:47.03 and the 800 in 1:41.76. Beesley went 2:24.21 in the 800 while Gardewine won the 400 in 51.25. Sager captured the 300 hurdles in 45.73.

In the field events, Gardewine captured the high jump at 5-10. Wortman won the pole vault at 12 feet and Esker claimed the shot with a throw of 39-9.
