Loads of Area Qualifiers for 1A State Track Finals

Our area is tremendously well-represented in the finals of the Class 1A Boys State Track Meet Saturday.

Loads of area athletes qualified for the finals in preliminaries Thursday.

Here's the list:

Long Jump--Corey Kersey of Neoga, 22' 6-1/2" and Justin Hunt of Teutopolis, 20' 11-3/4"

Pole Vault--Monte Wolke of Cumberland, Brock Mammoser of Newton, Andrew McWhorter of Teutopolis and Matthew Tolliver-Goode of Newton, each at 13' 6"

Shot Put--Jason Fry of Stewardson-Strasburg, 55' 1-1/2"

Triple Jump--Corey Kersey of Neoga, 47' 2-1/4" and Cody Heuerman of Teutopolis, 41' 8-1/2"

Discus Throw--Jason Fry of Stewardson-Strasburg, 157' 10"

300 Meter Hurdles--Riley Drees of Teutopolis, :39.82

400 Meter Dash--Andrew Sharp of Altamont, :49.62 and Kyle Blievernicht of Teutopolis, :50.29

800 Meter Run--Tye Sutherland of Cumberland, 1:56.75 and Andrew Gardewine of St. Anthony, 2:00.16

4X400 Meter Relay--Teutopolis' Nick Bierman, Justin Hunt, Riley Drees and Kyle Blievernicht, 3:27.35 and Cumberland's Charles Ault, Dillon Howard, Tye Sutherland and Lawrence Shuey, 3:27.16

Class 2A and 3A preliminaries will take place on Friday, with the finals in all three classes on Saturday.
