Area Players Exit State Tennis Tournament

The first day of the high school boys state tennis tournament marked the end of the line for area players.
Cole Buehnerkemper of St. Anthony won his first round match 6-2, 6-1, but lost his next match 6-1, 6-4 and then lost 7-6 (8), 6-3 to be eliminated.
Brandon Kurzeja of St. Anthony also won his first round match 6-2, 6-0, but lost his next round 6-0, 6-2 and then lost his next match 6-3, 6-0.
Joey Flach of Teutopolis lost his first two matches, 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 to be eliminated.
In doubles, Andrew Stephens and Cole Heuerman of St. Anthony won their first round match 6-3, 6-1, but lost their next match 6-2, 7-5 and then lost 6-4, 6-3 to be eliminated.
Frank Jansen and Aaron Walters of St. Anthony lost their first two matches, 6-2, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-3 to be eliminated.
Isaac Foreman and Parth Maheshwari of Effingham High lost their first two matches, 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1 to be eliminated.
The tournament will continue through Saturday throughout Chicagoland.
